What is PGT-A?
Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A), formerly known as PGS, is a technique used during an IVF cycle. A few cells are biopsied from a day-5 or day-6 blastocyst embryo. These cells are then genetically analyzed to screen for missing or extra chromosomes (e.g., Down syndrome, Turner syndrome) before an embryo is selected for transfer.
