What is Egg Freezing?
Egg Freezing, or Oocyte Cryopreservation, is a process where a woman’s eggs are extracted, frozen, and stored. The eggs are preserved unfertilized. When she is ready to conceive, the eggs are thawed, fertilized with sperm in the lab (via ICSI), and the resulting embryo(s) are transferred to the uterus.
