Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

What is IUI and how does it work?

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a fertility treatment where prepared sperm is placed directly into the uterus during ovulation. This increases the chances of fertilization and is less invasive than IVF.

Who can benefit from IUI?

IUI is suitable for couples with unexplained infertility, mild sperm issues, ovulation problems, or cervical factors. It is not recommended for blocked fallopian tubes or severe endometriosis.

What is the success rate of IUI?

IUI success rates range from 10–20% per cycle, depending on age and fertility health. Women under 35 generally have better outcomes.

Is IUI painful?

The procedure is quick and usually painless. Some women may experience mild cramping or light spotting.

When should I take a pregnancy test after IUI?

A pregnancy test is usually advised 14 days after the procedure for accurate results.
